How do Olivia Rodrigo's lyrics and thematic elements compare or contrast to other female artists within the same musical genre?
With Olivia Rodrigo's sudden rise to fame in the music industry, our team found it compelling to use Python NLP techniques and other visualization methods as a means to examine her songwriting. We aim to analyze her song lyrics and themes in comparison to those of other prominent female artists within the same musical genre. To accomplish this, we collected albums from artists Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and Sabrina Carpenter for an in-depth analysis, seeking to uncover distinctive patterns and themes.
After analyzing our visualizations, we were able to make some assumptions about Olivia's song lyrics compared to Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and Sabrina Carpenter. Olivia's lyrics heavily rely on personal experiences and relationships as our analyses highlighted keywords that emphasize her distinctive style.
